Eyelid plastic surgery

Eyes is the most expressive part of our face. Eyes attract attention and express emotions.

If you have excess skin on the eyelids, fatty bags under the eyes, or sagging eyelid skin, it can make appear tired or angry. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplastics) can adress issues. After assessing the patient’s anatomy, condition, and epectations, a plastic surgeon will recommend either upper or lower eyelid surgery, with both procedures often being performed together.

OPERATION

Eyelid surgery is typically performed uder local anasthesia can also be used if needed.

For the upper eyelids , an incision is made along the natural eyelid fold, allowing for the removal of excess skin and fat deposits (‘bags’). The incision is then sutured, and a special patch is applied to seal the area.

For the lower eyelids, a transconjunctival (inside) incision is made along the eyelid lining. Fat is either redistributed or removed, leaving no visible scar on the skin.

If there is both excess fat and skin under the eyes, s skin incision is made below the eyelashes to remove the extra skin.

For more prominent lower eyelid bags and significant exess skin, surgery may involve both removing the bags and lifting the lower eyelid. In this case, an incision is made just below the lashes, and several fixation sutures are used to lift the upper part of the cheek.
